Your stories. On the line.

A Year on the River is a documentary project capturing the people who fish the Truckee River. Through portraits, interviews, and field documentation, the project builds an evolving archive of changing seasons and individuals connected by a single place.

“It’s [fishing] an outdoor hobby focused on patience and persistence instead of gravity and high speeds - more art form and less sport.”

— Max Smith, 33. Reno, NV. On “why fly fishing”.
